Syrian Army ambushes Nusra fighters in Jobar, Damascus

Damascus, Syria (6:29 P.M.) – Units from the elite Syrian Republican Guard conducted a special operation in the embattled Damascene suburb of Jobar earlier today.

A tunnel hosting a large group of Fath Al-Sham Front (formerly Nusra Front) was detonated as the militants mobilized to launch an assault on nearby government checkpoints around the electricity building.

As a result of this operation, the entire group was destroyed with early reports suggesting that over two dozen jihadists were neutralized. The grinding front lines of Jobar have been static for years as intense clashes rage elsewhere in the insurgent bastion of Eastern Ghouta.
