Disgraced PR guru was taken to hospital after collapsing in prison – a Ministry of Justice spokeswoman today confirmed he has passed away.

Max Clifford has died aged 74 after suffering a heart attack.

The disgraced PR guru – who was serving an eight-year prison sentence – was hospitalised earlier this week after collapsing twice behind bars in Cambridgeshire.

He suffered a cardiac arrest and was said to be in a “bad way” by his daughter.

Today, a Ministry of Justice (MoJ) spokesman confirmed he had passed away in hospital.

“As with all deaths in custody, there will be an investigation by the independent Prisons and Probation Ombudsman,” the spokesman said.

“Our condolences are with Mr Clifford‘s family at this difficult time.”
