BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:25 A.M.) – There will be no sleep tonight for the residents in both government and rebel-held east Damascus, as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Islamist rebels clash at several axes.

According to an Al-Masdar field correspondent in Damascus, the Islamist rebels began the night by firing more than 30 mortar shells and rockets into government-held Dhahiyat Al-Assad area.

A s a result of this attack, at least one civilian was killed and over a dozen others were reportedly wounded.

In response to this rocket and mortar barrage, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) fired several missiles and and artillery shellls into the Islamist-held suburbs of Douma and Harasta.

The death toll as a result of this assault is unknown.This latest exchange of hostilities in the eastern suburbs of Damascus comes just 48 hours after the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces announced their latest deployment to the East Ghouta.
