People in the northwestern Chinese city of Xi’an have been treated to a drone light show as part of the Lantern Festival celebrations.
Hundreds of drones flew, forming different shapes of icons and Chinese characters, lighting up the sky of the ancient silk road city. Drone manufacturer and organizer of the event Ehang said 500 drones were employed in the 10-minute choreographed performance.
The Lantern Festival is celebrated annually on the first full moon night or fifteen days after the Chinese New Year. It also marks the end of Lunar New Year celebrations.
