BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group will be deploying to Middle Eastern waters for a scheduled deployment to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility, Stars and Stripes reported on Monday.
According to the report, the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) will leave Naval Station Norfolk on April 11th for another long deployment in the Middle East.
Joining this carrier strike group are the following:
- Guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60)
- Three guided-missile destroyers of the Destroyer Squadron
- U.S.S. Arleigh Burke
- U.S.S. Forrest Sherman
- U.S.S. Farragut
The 5th fleet is responsible for the naval forces in the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, and Arabian Sea, while the 6th fleet is responsible for the Mediterranean Sea.
Last year, this carrier strike group carried out the attack on Syria’s Al-Seen Airbase in eastern Homs.
