Commuters will be battling massive travel chaos today as tube workers on Central and Waterloo & City lines are on strike today. Rail workers on South Western Railway (SWR) have also walked out.

Services on Waterloo & City lines were suspended from 9.55am, although the operator said that it was running trains between Ealing Broadway and White City and between Woodford and Liverpool Street on the Central Line with severe delays.

The strike on the London Underground is being led by drivers union Aslef, which argues that drivers are continually forced into overtime and unsafe new working practises. Transport for London met with Aslef earlier this week in a bid to resolve the issues and avoid industrial action, but talks have so far failed.

Disgruntled travellers took to Twitter to share their morning blues:

The best thing about a #tubestrike is TIME TRAVEL
