Boris Johnson tells Jersey government that Royal Navy ships will ‘remain in place’French fishing vessels assemble to blockade St Helier CREDIT: GETTY IMAGESBoris Johnson has told Jersey’s government the two Royal Navy gunboats will “remain in place”, after the European Commission threw its weight behind France in the row over fishing rights.

HMS Tamar and HMS Severn, both of which are equipped with machine guns, are stationed just off the coast. In response, two French patrol vessels have been sent to nearby waters. Read more
