Authorities still doing the blah blah despite ‘knowing that we know’ their “game”

People aged under 30 England will be invited to have the vaccine from tomorrow, Matt Hancock announced. The Health Secretary said those aged 25 to 29 will start receiving texts asking them to book an appointment. So far 78% of people in England have had their first jab and 52% both doses. He also said there was evidence the vaccines were effective against the Delta, or Indian, variant.Since June 3 of the 126 people hospitalised with the variant only three had had both jabs while 83 were unvaccinated.Mr Hancock also said it was too early to say if all the restrictions could be lifted in England on June 21.But he added: “But I am confident one day soon freedom will return.”
Ministers, experts and advisers will this week begin examining crucial data which will decide whether step four of the unlocking “roadmap” can be triggered on June 21.Boris Johnson is due to make an announcement next Monday. But the Prime Minister was warned the Delta variant could scupper the relaxations plan.Sir David King, who was Chief Scientific Adviser from 2000 to 2007 and who chairs the Independent Sage Group, told Sky News: “There are 5,300 new cases of the disease per day in the United Kingdom and we’re up about 2,000 on last week.“Now, we’ve been discussing whether or not we’re going into a serious third wave and I don’t think we can possibly wait any longer. This is the evidence of another wave appearing.”Meanwhile, thousands of Brits were scrambling for flights home from Portugal today in the race to get home before new quarantine rules come into force tomorrow. The rush came after the Government moved the country from the Green list to the Amber category. The move means returning travellers will have to pay for expensive tests and quarantine for 10 days, if they get home after 4am tomorrow. There are an estimated 112,000 Britons currently in Portugal and airlines have been laying on extra flights or larger aircraft to get people home.
