Americans entering the twenty-first century, it is the best of times and the worst of times. Material wealth is at record levels, yet disturbing social problems reflect a deep spiritual poverty.
The growth of material affluence in developed first world countries has not necessarily brought with it oodles of subjective well being.Whilst having money it’s clear can be much better than not having money (sociologically) in the US since 1960 the divorce rate has doubled, teen suicide has tripled, violence crime 4x (as much),prison intake 4x,and babies born out of wedlock x6.
Myers-the American paradox :Spiritual hunger in the age of plenty.
So what is a viable solution?
